Sarsenapati Khanderao Dabhade is the founder of the Sarsenapati Dabhade Family of Talegaon Dabhade. He was conferred the title of "Sarsenapati" by Chhattrapati Shahu Maharaj of Satara (Grandson of Chhattrapati Shivaji Maharaj) on 11 January 1717.[1]
Umabaisaheb Khanderao Dabhade, Sarsenapati, the only woman to become Commander-in-Chief of the Maratha Army in 1732 is the wife of Sarsenapati Khanderao Dabhade.
He died at the 'Juna Rajwada' in Talegaon Dabhade near Pune on 27 September 1729.
